I sold my xbox one x via ebay, which was factory reset and removed from my devices page on the account.

The xbox was fully working and in excellent condition.

The buyer has now stated that it has a E102 error when updating the system software I have guided them through the steps and they say that it still wont work and want to return it to me.

Im concerned that i dont receive my xbox back if they do and i made the mistake of not noting down the serial number of the system.

is there a way support can recover the details from my account as the xbox has been linked since purchase so i can confirm that it is mine?

I've managed to sort it, xbox support via telephone assisted, the xbox serial number was attached to a design lab controller repair request I made earlier in the year.

if you have not removed it from your actual xbox profile then you can see your serial number still.

go to Microsoft - Official Home Page

click sign in

go to to right there should be your picture of your profile if you click picture that it will say your Microsoft account click that and the next page it will say devices , click that and it will list serial numbers of all your devices.

Yes you can transfer it to the hard drive.

Would that be copy, or would I have tom move it across. I would like to keep a back up since Microsoft hardware isn't very reliable.

Some games will allow either one. You can also redownload it at any time from your download history.
