Xbox Developer Remote Access: can't connect on my laptop browser

I contacted Microsoft Support and got the same run around. They accessed my laptop (though I kept stressing the problem is Microsoft, not my laptop(, signed into my laptop via a remote, saw the issue that is occurring, tried a few
things and still the problem existed.

The highlight was the tech restarted the laptop and lost the remote connection (real smart). I tried another attempt and was given useless links.

Hi, thanks for the response. That's not quite my situation. I have an HDMI connection to my desktop monitor, and my second connection is a wireless stream to my laptop through the Xbox app. I don't have a wireless connection between my laptop and my desktop,
so I can't influence settings remotely on my desktop monitor. I was hoping there was some way of having the stream take priority and disable the HDMI connection.

The remote can't be only Infrared else it wouldn't be controlling my laptop when I am not point the remote at it. I am in front of my laptop pointing it at my xbox but my HP PC is also being controlled at the same time.

Same. Was able to remote play perfectly until the recent update to the app. Now I can't. My console is connected via Ethernet, as is my laptop at work. Speeds exceed 500MB on either end. I get a black screen that says "We found your console but can't connect. Try a different network".

I tested the remote play on my Wi-Fi (the same network the Xbox is connected to) last night, and it worked just fine. Seems like the recent update broke the ability to play games from other networks.

I seem to have the same problem as many others. My xbox 360 is connected to the internet but can't connect to xbox live. After a while, I can connect to xbox live. But awhile ago, I disconnected from XBL again. I realise this keeps happening quite often
lately, which really sucks. I know the problem can't be with my internet connection because I can use the web browser just fine on my laptop.
