Xbox Dev Mode companion can't connect to the devkit.

Hello, I'm having a really strange issue where I'm able to connect to the XB1 devkit using the Xbox Dev Mode companion after the devkit performs a system update, but if I restart the devkit at any time afterwards, the Xbox Dev Mode companion will be unable
to connect to the devkit until the next system update. This is fairly critical to my work since I've been working remotely.

I have thus far been unable to find a solution to this issue, any thoughts on how to solve this?

When you receive and run the dev mode activation app, the app automatically shuts down after page 2. All devkits have the same problem.

You should be fine as there's not a whole lot you can do in 'dev mode' with out actually purchasing the developer subscription and downloading the related app for it. In Dev Mode on a retail console without the app and register subscription account to develop
software, and just in general, you can't play retail games at all. So with out the requisite account and software there's really no point or issue in putting your console into said dev mode.
