    Xbox Desktop App has Incredibly Slow and Painful Download Speeds


    The Xbox PC app has download speeds that only reach anywhere from 60kbps to a maximum of 950kbps but won't stay very for very long. A common speed test shows that the network I'm on can easily do 200MBps download with a 20-25MBps upload and in the network settings it shows 286/286MBps, so I'm a little lost on why it's still so slow. I have the delivery optimization on 100%, the auto tuning is already on normal, and steam can download updates and games at anywhere 10MBps to 350MBps before I even tried these fixes.

    As of writing this article, I've been trying to download FNV on the Xbox app for almost over an hour and still haven't even broken a GB yet.

    Clear and reset Store cache in Windows

    Step 1: Close Windows Store app if it’s running.

    Step 2: In the Start menu search box, type WSReset (Windows Store Reset) to see Wsreset in the search results.

    Step 3: Right-click on WSReset and then click Run as administrator option.

    Step 4: restart Pc and Modem/router

    After that you need to cancel and restart the download

    You can also try to change your PC DNS

    Sometimes the speed download will depend also on the server load, if many users are using the same server or downloading the same file ( happens often with updates) you won't get full speed

    Is there any way you could hook up directly with a either net cable , directly from router to xbox see what speeds you get .

    There has been others with the same issues, could be xbox servers 👍

    There was a service alert earlier today, but if it was happening before then it could be the Xbox itself starting to get ware and tear.

    Did you perhaps move the Xbox to a different area of your house/apartment?
