Xbox crossplay issues

Went to play fortnite with son and friends but would not let me access duos, trios, squads...only solo. I kept getting the message crossplay disabled. However, when I went into my xbox settings, I noticed they were in fact enabled (Allowed). I tried my gamertag on both xbox ones in the house an neither would let me crossplay. However, when I tried my wife and son's accounts, they worked. After spending 5 hours yesterday chatting with xbox support, I got 4 people who could not help me nor has heard of the issue. So, they politely apologized and closed the chat. Some service!

I've found other links on here and reddit but then the links just stopped or were closed. It's like other people have the same problem but they just "sweep it under the rug".

I've done hard resets, uninstalled/reinstalled, cache clearing, removed user....everything I've been asked or told to do. But why would my gamertag not work on 2 systems when they are independent of each other?

Has anyone had or know of this issue and can help me?

This is a developer issue. The only allow crossplay for xbox and windows pc.

I can't play on xbox one, one s and I'm worried on if I'll be able to on the new series s.

It's a known but not common issue and you would think a company that big would fix any issues asap. However, I've found things going back a couple of years and nobody has had the issue solved.

Hello Old_gamer78t, there have actually been many records here in the Community regarding crossplay not working, we still don't have any official Microsoft position and we hope it will resolve as soon as possible.

Yes! I'm having this same problem too! I thought I was going crazy. I'm trying to match up with a friend on fortnite (he's on ps4) and I kept getting a 'cross-platform play currently disabled' error message. So after searching online and checking my settings, turns out its enabled so I don't understand whats going on, also I was able to play other games (paladins, smite) cross-platform no problem. Also I'm playing on Xbox series S.

Yes, I've found a few records but they have either been closed, "moved" to a different section (swept under the rug) or the person just gave up.

I was so tempted to make a new gamertag or go back to Playstation buy I've never had any issues with xbox before. So, I'm going to wait and see.

BTW I'm still waiting for a response from my escalated ticket. So, as soon as I hear a solution (told later today), I'll post it here.
