    Stupid auto-renewal setting on Gold membership

    Xbox live has been running this scam for ages. I have had so many billing problems it is not even funny. When my credit card was active, I entered a 12 month code only to have it credited to the year after next and none of the bozos in billing could help.
    Luckily for them, I am an xbox fanboy and stayed for the next two years. I removed the credit card from the profile and have stopped buying anything on live due to this crappy policy of theirs.

    Yes, you need to give credit card details so that if you decide to carry on the subscription, it will work, and then it goes on to automatic billing. This means that you have to give your credit card details to redeem the Xbox Game Pass. After doing that, you will be able to go into "My subscriptions" in settings and cancel the Game Pass for when it next renews.
