Xbox controllers on past consoles

Hi,

as far as I know the controller nor the console have to be power on, as long the console is connected to power the battery charges. I have charged the rechargeable for the Xbox controllers that way in the past.

It seems everyone else is suggesting readjusting your battery pack. However, I would recommend trying to sync the controller to the xbox again. I had a problem with this in the past and I simply needed to sync my controller a second time.

1. Turn on your console.

2. Press and hold the guide button to turn on your controller.

3. Press and release the connect button on the console.

4. Within 20 seconds press and release the connect button on the controller.

5. When the lights surrounding the power button on the console stop flashing the controller is connected.

The problem with Nintendo is the controllers for their consoles, most people can look past the graphics, they will wait for the games but they want a decent controller and games built around it...

The only thing i can think of is plugging the controller into the console with the adapter plugged in and see if the controller can take an update. Past that it sounds like the adapter may be dead

Under subscriptions, if the Xbox Live is active then try to remove and redownload the profile. If that does not help then try to power cycle the console by hold the power button for 10 seconds on the xbox itself (not the controller).
