    Xbox controllers are defective


    Xbox controllers break down too easily and people have been complaining for years. Xbox has such a steady supply of new players that by the time people learn how bad the controllers are and complain- new gamers join and are duped by microsoft into buying new controllers after breakdown. If you are teading this chances are you have a controller with a broken joystick. Anyone who has seen the series "Halt and Catch Fire" can connect the dots and realize the controllers are overpriced and under-engineered. It just does not add up what we get for $60-$80 per unit- some players spending even more. Is it possible that a protective shroud like the one on on standard car transmission shifter could increase the life of the joystick by containing the lubricating powder and keepinf dirt out? Or is microsoft simply dropping the ball by sourcing the cheapest least reliable components? Perhaps a combination of poor engineering and low-ball constuction. Either way- to save money in these difficult times I will be limiting my gameplay in various strategies to reduce personal cost when engaging in one of my all-time favorite pastimes.

    This is annoying. Microsoft isn't even going to fix the controller. They are going to send me a refurbished controller. I've only had this for 2 weeks. They should be sending me a new one.

    I tried to return to amazon, but they are running low on stock, and the replacement won't arrive for at least 3 weeks.

    I've checked Reddit and a few other places, and this seems to be a common issue with these controllers. I have found a lot of people complaining of this exact issue. It's always with the RT button.

    It will be the sensor in the analogue that will be loose, ive encountered it a few times, with FPS games you can adjust the deadzone on your right analogue to counter the drift.

    The larger the deadzone the greater input you have to input for it to register the movement, ie if its only slight drift it should eliviate it.

    There are people on ebay who will replace or refurbish the controller as the sensor is roughly about £20 for example if you are in the uk.

    There are plenty of tutorials online, but id highly recommend buying the security star keys if you wish to replace it yourself.
