    I recently purchased a "Sea of Thieves" Xbox One controller after one of my previous ones became too worn out.

    I unboxed the controller, placed the rechargeable battery from the old controller into it, plugged it into my Xbox One and turned it on without issue. The controller seemed to pair fine with the Xbox and after I was sure it was working fine, I shut the Xbox
    off.

    One day later when I decide to actually use the Xbox I find the controller won't turn on. The Xbox button doesn't light up and it appears the controller has no power. I replaced the battery with two new double A's, but still no luck.

    I plugged the controller into the wall using a micro usb phone charger and even that does nothing. The controller just doesn't power up no matter what I do.

    I've tried doing a hard reset on the Xbox and plugging the controller in before rebooting, bending out the battery contacts (not that it would solve the lack of usb power) and connecting it to a Windows 10 PC, all with no luck.

    Again, the controller worked fine initially, was shut off with the Xbox and placed on a table for roughly 24 hours without being handled until I tried to use it again. It seems like it somehow managed to brick itself without me touching it.

    Has anyone had this problem?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Heya!

    Very sorry to hear about the controller issues.

    We would recommend going trying to
    update the controller     if you can get it to turn on with the USB cable attached to the console.

    If you have a Windows 10 PC you might also try the
    Windows 10 update steps.

    If those options do not help with the issues then let's have you reach out to
    chat or phone     to request a repair or exchange.

    Be sure to mention that the controller is the Sea of Thieves controller to ensure you get one back if an exchange is needed!

    Well what kind of controller is this is it the original Xbox one controller or 3.5mm controller? If it is the original Xbox one controller it might be the controller malfunctioning with your Xbox because they are outdated.

    Hey David,

    First thing that comes to mind would be Using co pilot along side the adaptive controller. Co- pilot allows 2 different controllers to control player one,
    And it works perfectly along side the adaptive controller. Aside from that, here are some helpful links to check out if you haven't already :

    I wish you could use a Xbox 360 controller on the Xbox one controller. I like my
    Xbox 360 controller more then my Xbox one controller. i don't think anyone(Microsoft of controller
    manufacturers) will do Backward compatible controllers.
