Xbox controller won’t let me adjust headset chat mixer, If I plug it in slow, I can hear...

UPDATE.

I figured it out.

Hard reset the xbox with the headset plugged in. The new controller has the chat mixer turned all the way to chat and not to game . Put the mixer back to the middle and it works. Without the hard restart, the option to adjust the chat mixer is gone.

I assume there has been an update, as I can not see/find a chat mixer that allows me to hear chat only in my wireless headset--- is there any other method to use to adjust headset to chat only?

You can try to update controller with headset plugged in. Also adjust chat mixer some see if can fix it that way.

Thanks for coming back to the Xbox forums. Can you explain the issue to us in a little more detail so that we can better assist you? Are you using a stereo headset or a chat headset? Does this issue only happen in party chat, or does it happen with game
chat as well? Doublecheck your audio setting to make sure the chat mixer isn't set to hear chat audio only.

With your headset plugged in, press the Xbox button on your controller. scroll right until the end and select Audio. Adjust the headset mixer as needed.

Because you are having problems with both the headset and earbuds, it could be your controller. However, check the audio mixer settings on the Xbox. With the headset plugged into your controller, from the home menu go to the system tab. You should see
a selection for audio. Open the audio controls and check to make sure the mixer is not set for chat only, eliminating game sounds. Adjust the settings and see if you start hearing sounds.
