  1. XBox Controller won't connect with Bluetooth after connecting with USB

    Hello,

This issue have been reported many times but the thread get closed so posting again.

I have a persistent issue with using my Xbox One Controller on my Windows 10 computer with a play and charge kit.

It works perfectly with Bluetooth until the battery runs out.

I then use the USB charging cable to continue playing games while the battery charges. It's plugged on the PC.

Once the battery is charged and I try to use the controller again without the cable, it won't connect with Bluetooth.

The Xbox button on the controller flashes on and off.

The only way I've managed to get it to connect again after this happens is to remove the pairing from the PC and then re-pair the controller from scratch.

This happens consistently and has happened
EVERY TIME after I charge the controller on the PC, playing with the pad plugged or just charging the pad.

If I don't use the plug the pad, I can connect and disconnect the controller repeatedly, including restarting or shutting down my PC and playing again after a number of days.

It' like this since the beginning.

    :)

I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the community. How are you?

This controller does not support xCloud. These are the controllers you can use.

XBox controller disconnects from PC or stops responding

Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

Let me know if the information is still useful.

    Sincerely,
    Marvina.

XBox Elite Series 2 unplugged from PC using USB won't auto connect to Bluetooth

That doesnt make any sense. Why would you design a bluetooth protocol on your own OS that didnt auto connect?
It should auto connect. My controller does.

The only time my Xbox One controller won't auto connect is when I've connected it to my gaming PC via USB to charge the battery. After this I have to re-sync the controller. But I only have to do this for the duration of the battery charge. My controller
auto syncs first time from Windows boot up.

The issue is that the controller has two wireless protocols. It does not use Bluetooth with the wireless gaming receiver, or when connected to an Xbox console.

If your controller won't auto connect then there must be something wrong with your Bluetooth hardware on your PC. Have you tried a Bluetooth dongle to test this out?

XBox Controller won't connect with Bluetooth after connecting with USB

No outstanding updates showing in the xbox accessories app in Windows 10.

All laptop firmware and drivers have been installed.

All windows updates have been installed.

The problem with the controller also affects Windows itself - normally you can select things in the start menu with the controller, when the pairing issue happens, the start menu doesn't respond to the controller so it's nothing to do with the games.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
