Xbox controller update stuck on 0

We appreciate your coming to the Xbox community, and we're sorry you're having this issue. Before we try any different solutions, I suggest you see if your windows 10 is the latest version in case it is version 21H1.

To update your windows to the latest version using the instructions below.

Select the Start button and then go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update.

- If updating the system does not solve the problem, I suggest you try the solutions below.

Solution 1:

Go to Windows settings

Applications

Applications and Features

Search for Xbox Accessories

Click on it

Advanced options

Tap restore

Solution 2:

Uninstall the accessory application from your computer, restart your pc, after that download the application again from the Microsoft store, connect your controller with a cable to the pc and try to update the firmware one more time.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with being able to update a title you have been playing.

We appreciate you taking the time to attempt to troubleshoot this matter on your end.

I would recommend that you take a look at the
Troubleshoot slow game downloads on Xbox One article, and see if some of these steps work for you.

There is one step I would like you to be weary of, which would be Solution 4: Cancel the game or app installation and then reinstall.
Take in mind that if you do this, you will install the game and all the updates all at once, which would potentially increase the time
it take to get back to gaming.

In this instance, if you do take this path, I would encourage you to re-install the game, and when prompted to update the title along the installation,
select Update later. Once the title is completely installed, update the game.

The link in my previous post has some steps to try that should resolve it. If you're having the same problem, I would recommend starting your own thread for specific troubleshooting if the steps posted here don't help.

This page here has a number of steps to try if your download/update is stuck at or near 0%. Is this happening for one specific
title, or is this happening to multiple different titles? I would recommend trying a different game or app to see if they're able to download successfully?

Let us know if those steps don't work, and we can identify some further troubleshooting steps to try and identify what's causing the issue.
