XBOX Controller turns off while using it with an XBOX rechargeable battery.

Hi, I recently bought an XBOX controller (Model 1914) and an XBOX rechargeable battery for xbox controllers (Model 1727). I'm connecting to my computer using the XBOX wireless adapter (Model 1790) that I was using with my previous controller (Model 1708).

Here's my problem:

- The new controller turns off after about 10 to 15 minutes while actively using it with the rechargeable battery fully charged.

- The new controller does not turn off while using the bundled AA batteries or the USB cable.

- The old controller does not turn off while using the rechargeable battery.

- Both controller's firmware is up to date, updated through the XBOX Accessories app on Windows 11 (OS is up to date too).

I'm at a loss of what to do or try now. I don't know if it's a hardware or a software issue. Depending on what the issue is, I want to RMA the rechargeable battery for being effectively useless, (unless there's a firmware update planned to fix it), or RMA the controller and try with another one and see if the replacement works.

have you tried using it with standard AAs? If it works there it's the battery pack

Hi MoonChild07,

You will need to connect the cord to the Xbox and the controller at the same time, while having your console on and the battery pack is still attached to the controller. That way the console will recharge the battery pack while you can still use the controller.
After it is fully recharged, you can remove the cord and use the controller wirelessly.

Also the only way to turn off the controllers is if I remove the batteries from the one controller and the rechargeable battery from the other.

I found that it was my batteries that where going flat that made the sim hang or when the controller turned off it would crash the game.

I ended up buying a rechargeable battery kit for my XBOS Controller and threw out the standard batteries, that has fixed the hanging issue while flying for me but the Sim still crashes when the controller turns off or gets disconnected 🙄

same issue! as soon as i plug in my Xbox one headset the controller turns off. I've used the official Xbox one rechargeable battery's and normal AA battery's and i've just also updated the controller. nothing seems to work. really annoying now as i cant
speak to any one on live.. i've also tried turning off kennect chat options, this made no difference.

Have also tried removing battery's altogether, connecting the controller via the USB lead for power and the same thing happens. as soon as the headset is pushed in the controller turns off!
