    Xbox Controller turns off when connected to PC


    I have had this controller for maybe a year now and it has worked pretty well for most of it. However, when I reset my computer this time it refuses to stay on and connected. It blinks twice and then shuts off. I have the wireless receiver plugged into my computer and tried out different ports, but to no avail. I have been searching for answers for a couple answers but haven't gotten anywhere. Any help is appreciated!

    Yes, I'm trying to connect my controller via Bluetooth on my Windows 10 PC (It worked before yesterday). When I connect my controller via USB Cable it works fine.

    The XBox Button flashing slowly when it's turn on. When I press the sync button to connect via Bluetooth, the XBox Button flashes for 1 second and the controller turn off.

    good work around but i am still surprised the controller is not turning off when holding the xbox button, as all my controller do and they are a mix of xbox one controllers and series controllers. regardless if connected via wireless or usb to the pc.

    If your gaming on your PC, you can connect to an xbox live party via your phone or computer but the controller when inactive will turn off to save power.

    You cannot turn this feature off.

    I need a way to successfully unsync my Xbox controller from my console, so I can again use it on my laptop via bluetooth.

    For now, why not just turn off the Xbox at the wall, then sync your controller to your PC, then turn the Xbox back on at the wall. That way you wont turn the Xbox One on when syncing the controller to the PC.
