Xbox controller trouble

So i bought a controller at Gamestop brand new when i was playing with it i had to press some of the buttons twice for it to work it happens about 20% of the time i updated the firm ware but it didn’t work i’m looking for answers to see if this has ever
happened to anyone.

I Never have a trouble with a Xbox Controller with a Xbox Controller. But some friends have troubles with the A B X Y.

Is it a name brand, Microsoft, Xbox controller? Some of the other controllers have trouble staying connected

I fixed It, I removed the plastic power button covering the RF board and now it syncs every time.

i have had a problem like this before. on the controller there is supposed to be a small button and on the xbox near the power button there is another button, (not the one to open the disc tray), but another one. press and hold both of them at the same time
and your controller will work

I just got one, and It still won't sync, I have a wired controller on the way to see if it is the controller.
