Xbox Controller Stopped Working

So, I have a Xbox One Wireless Controller + Cable for Windows. It had been working perfectly until yesterday, today I tried to use it through the usb cable but my computer didn't recongnize it, I tried everything in the forums, couldn't find any driver
to download, updated to Windows 10 (was using Windows 7), updated everything through the "Windoes Update", and it still doesn't work. What Can I do? Please don't give me these automatic answers I can find in the support page, I've tried everything.

Xbox One headset not working correctly ?

I have two controllers one controller stopped working with headset now the 2nd controller stopped working with both head sets. they can hear me but I cannot hear them.

do you have an xbox also? if so try if it connects there. does the controller turn on? otherwise I would suggest to contact support at support.xbox.com

This is frustrating. It has happened to myself a few times over a few consoles. First step is seeing if there is an update for the controllers.

Update Xbox Controller steps: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/update-controller-for-stereo-headset-adapter

Another issue if the update doesn't work could be the button mapping: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/controllers/wireless-controller-solution

If the controller does not turn on when you connect it I would first suggest you try using an alternate USB cable and if possible also try connecting it to an Xbox One console to see if the same thing still occurs.
