Xbox controller series S home button isn’t working when pressed?

To refresh the home screen, you can simply press on the Xbox button; then highlight home, press on the menu button. Then press on Refresh

You can check this if you don't know the button's name Get to know your Xbox Series X|S Wireless Controller | Xbox Support

You might have to re-sync the controller to the Xbox. Press the little button on the top of your controller until the home button flashes quickly then press the little button on the front of your Xbox one s or x or press the button next to the CD drive
on the Xbox one

I have the same problem my Xbox S controller will not let me sign in when I press home button, can sign in via iPhone and laptop but not remote.
