Xbox Controller Right Analog Stick Not Working - Still

I have an XBox One. The right joystick has stopped working. A prior posting here ("Xbox Controller Right Analog Stick Not Working") presented exactly the same symptoms, and the response from Microsoft provided some suggested steps to fix. However, their recommended steps (rebooting xbox, clearing xbox cache by leaving unplugged for 5 minutes, replacing batteries on controller, replacing surge protector xbox plugged into) did not remedy the problem. To make things worse, Microsoft closed the original posting so no additional comments could be added. That has led me to posting.

To recap, here are symptoms and what I've tried:

2 days ago my right analog stick stopped working (I was playing Fallout 3) - symptom was I couldn't turn around in the game anymore.

I navigated back to home and found that the right controller didn't work to navigate there either. I tried some additional games -- the right analog stick didn't work there either.

I have a second controller - I tried that. Same exact problem.

I followed the instructions (summarized above) from the prior posting on this issue -- that didn't solve the problem.

I have checked the magnifier(which uses right analog stick) - it is not enabled.

Note - if I _do_ enable the magnifier, the right analog stick does work to move the screen around. When I disable the magnifier, the right stick goes back to not working.

I have also verified that, within the "Accessory" (via settings) test mode - the right analog stick is recognized by Xbox, and it's use shows up properly.

So -- to Microsoft -- why has the Xbox stopped recognizing the right analog stick on all my controllers for all my applications (and general navigation) -- while it continues to work only for magnification and Accessory test mode?

This has basically bricked my Xbox. Surely there is a fix for this -- as it is clear that the controller itself works and is communicating with the Xbox.

I was playing Vanguard last night and mid game I couldn't turn right or do anything with the right stick, I switched to a second controller and it still didn't work. I reset the xbox and it still was happening with both controllers but if I go into test mode they work with no issue at all. I tried unlugging the console and resetting the controllers but this had no effect either.

As my series X is a month old this is fairly frustrating......anyone have any solutions or advice?

Try the reset process first and I hope it works for you! I am now waiting for a replacement console

Same man same I was playing vanguard then I dropped my controller put the batteries back in and then I could no longer move around at all on the right analog I am extremely frustrated too cause I just got mine for Christmas no controllers work either btw xbox please help us man

I have the exact same issue, I tried to trade in my xbox one into game in the United Kingdom, controller was scuffed so it got rejected, fired it up when I went home and the right anolog stick only works when the magnifying glass is on and only for panning, tried to connect the xbox one controller to my series x to see if it would work on my series x and now all of a sudden the issue is also on my series x controller so I also can't play that! I feel hopeless and after reading online it seems like no one has the issues apart from ourselves! I will keep trying to fix and let you know if I get anywhere
