Xbox Controller registration to microsoft account

Make sure the controller serial number is correct. The serial number is the 14 digit code at the battery pack. It doesn't have any hyphen or dashes. Make sure you're not entering 0 for O or I for 1 etc.

Please double-check the registration process. Microsoft’s registration process for Xbox devices requires that you first select the correct product family typically “Xbox” and then enter the serial number as it appears on your controller. The serial number of the controller is located at the back of the battery compartment below the bar code.

And then review your account region settings because mismatches between your account region and the region selected during registration can result in these devices not being properly registered. Kindly double-check that your account settings and your registration inputs region all align.

Then refresh, and clear the browse. The controller registration doesn’t immediately update on the “My Devices” page. Please clear your browser’s cache And then log out and log back into your account.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly use inprivate or incognito browser to eliminate any cached data issues.

To complain about your Elite Series 2 controller, which is not showing up in your account and has gliding issues, follow these steps:

1. Confirm the registration:

Go to the devices page of your Microsoft account and check if the controller is still registered. If it is not, try registering again with the serial number

support.xbox.com/.../warranty-and-registration-faq and I cannot find a way to extend a warranty online? I have no device registered by Xbox yet.

The warranty on controllers purchased separately is typically 90 days and if is out of warranty or shows physical damage they won't repair it.
