Xbox controller registering start button when not being pushed down

Hello, my question is exactly how it sounds.

My controller is quite new, but I think the cause of this happening was me dropping my controller.

I've tried updates to fix it and nothings worked.

The start button is not stuck, (unable to be pushed down / vice versa) it can be pushed down fine, just like the rest of my controller buttons.

Hi,

I am using, according to microsoft, the xbox wireless controller in robot white. Link for reference, if unopenable, specifically the new xbox controller with the screenshot button to the bottom left of the start button.

Also, that is the only button that I am experiencing issues with.

What controller model are you using? Is that the only button you are having an issue with?

To solve this issue I suggest you to follow these steps:

Turn on the console

Turn on the controller by holding down the Xbox button until it starts flashing then release.

Push and hold the small black sync button on the front of the controller until the Xbox button starts flashing faster then release.

Now push and release the sync button on the side of the xbox console.

Then push and release the Xbox button on the controller.

The light should slow down then stay on.

Your additional remotes should work properly now.

Try performing the hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.
