Xbox controller on PC

    I maybe VERY wrong but, A Xbox console contoller is different from an Xbox PC controller.

    If you purchase an Xbox Pc Controller it will work with PC games that support the configuration.

    A normal Console controller is not usable on a PC without the right cable and drivers.........

    hi sorry to disturb you

    i'm trying to connect my xbox one controller to my pc with the usb cable but it doesn't work.. the curious thing is, if i connect the controller to my pc (or i try to do it) while my xbox one is on, i gain control of the xbox one.. i can even play from the
    xbox with my controller while it's connected to the pc.

    what do i need to do to connect my controller to the pc and play pc games?

    Xbox controller on PC

    I'm having the same issue.

    I just bought a new controller. I managed to update it and install the controller properly.

    It can only start when I'm plugged in with the micro usb cable. After that i can disconnect it and play without cable.

    So I know the controller works, the batteries work, and the adapter works.

    What is the problem ?

    Xbox 360 controller needs a special adapter, for detect controller on PC. If you want play with xbox controller on PC I recommend Xbox ONE controller.

    If your controllers are wireless, then you are going to need the Xbox 360 wireless adapter for PC to be able to connect the controller to the PC. https://bit.ly/3zldL21

    If it's wired, then just plugging the controllers into the PC via the USB socket should work fine.
    The OP is trying to control his Xbox One whilst having the controller plugged into the PC rather than having issues connecting the controller to PC.

    I don't see how controlling your XB1 with a PC connected controller would even work...not unless there is some sort of remote share function or other on the XB1 maybe? Much like PCs have remote desktops to control it from another location?
