Xbox controller on, but not connecting/Connected but not responding.

Hello,

Recently my Xbox controller has been giving me issues when I try to connect it to my Xbox 1S

some details worth noting:

I have tried shutting on and off both the Xbox and the controller

My controller is up-to-date and is a newer model

When you turn the controller on, it vibrates

I tried connecting the controller to my Xbox But the Xbox light & the controller light seem to just keep blinking and not connect to each other

Using a USB/Connector does not work

The controller doesn't work for other Xbox consoles as well, however, my friend using Xbox told me that it connects sometimes but they don't know how

The Xbox is compatible with other controllers.

Please help me as I am very frustrated, I've tried 'almost everything I could think of.

Yes, I have another controller but its old & doesn't have a lot of working parts still.

I apologize but if this is happening with multiple consoles this may mean that the issue is with the controller itself and you may have performed all the necessary steps.

One last test, do you have a different controller that you can try to use?

Connect the controller to a PC via USB cable and verify that it is up to date in the "Xbox Accessories" app. Once you verify that it is up to date try to perform a cache clear with the following steps.

1. Press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

2. Unplug the power cord from the back of your Xbox.

3. Wait a minute, and then plug the power cord back in.

4. Press the Power button on your Xbox to turn it back on.

5. Your cache should be clear at this point.

Try to link both devices again by pressing the pairing buttons of both devices at the same time.

You should try using the controller on a different device, as a mobile phone, then try to link it to the console again

You should also do this

Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Plug the console power cable back in.

Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox

If nothing works follow these steps to request the service:

Sign in to the Device service and repair page with your Microsoft account credentials.

Select the device that you want repaired.

Follow the onscreen steps to complete your service order request.
