Xbox controller now working on pc gamepass

Based on the information you provided, it appears that there's something on the settings that we need to modify for it to properly works from your end. To proceed, kindly open your Steam application settings and proceed to check for controller settings. Then, proceed to look for Xbox configuration support and Xbox extended feature support.

Disclaimer: For the current update, quite not sure for the updated options titled. As long as there's an option for Xbox.

Once you found the option, make sure that it is not enable from your end. The reason why we are doing this is because, when the steam is set up the options enabled from your end, this mainly caused why the controller will not works when we try to use it with Xbox apps.

Firstly, I would suggest checking if the controller is properly connected to your PC. Please make sure that the USB-C cable is securely plugged into both the controller and your PC. You can also try using a different USB port on your PC to see if that resolves the issue.



If the issue persists, I recommend updating the drivers for your controller. You can do this by following these steps:



1. Press the Windows key + X on your keyboard and select Device Manager from the list of options.

2. Expand the "Xbox Peripherals" section and right-click on your controller.

3. Select "Update driver" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.



If updating the drivers doesn't work, you can try resetting your controller. To do this, follow these steps:



1. Press and hold the Xbox button on your controller for about 10 seconds.

2. Release the button and wait for the controller to turn off.

3. Press the Xbox button again to turn the controller back on.



If none of the above steps work, you can try using the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows to connect your controller wirelessly.

Few months late to the party but I just did some troubleshooting with this same issue and managed to resolve it.

In my case, I checked under the Device Manager on my PC and noticed that I had entries for BOTH an Xbox 360 controller and my Xbox Elite Series 2. The kicker is that there is no xbox 360 device connected to my PC. In most games I had tried to use the controller, I could hit the stick and the game would swap over to displaying controller buttons for menus but not take any input so I knew it was reading a controller. What I am now assuming is that for some reason it was expecting the input from whatever the Xbox 360 controller device was.

The Fix:

Open Device Manager > Scroll to Xbox 360 Peripherals > Right Click the 'Xbox 360 Controller for Windows' entry > Disable Device > Restart the PC.

After that I was able to load up all my games and actually use my controller. Not certain that this will be your issue but it is what I was able to get to work for me. Hope it helps.

Hello. My controller was already updated to the latest drive. I would like to clarify that the controller can connect to the computer. I get it to work with fine Steam games, all buttons and inputs work fine. It is only with GamePass games. Even in the Xbox PC app, I can move through it and select things with the A button. It is just that when I launched these games using the Xbox app on PC, the controller doesn't work. Only half the time will it read inputs, and the only inputs the games will read are from the Left stick moving through menus and the Dpad moving left and right. None of the other buttons, bumpers, or triggers respond.
