Xbox Controller Not Discoverable

I recently (about a month ago) bought an xbox series x controller to use on xbox cloud play with my M1 Macbook Air. It was worked perfectly until now. I was able to connect it on my PC, my iPad Pro, and my iPhone 14 with no issue. Today, I was downloading a firmware update through a buddy's windows computer (very importantly, I DO NOT have access to an Xbox console). Halfway through the update it gave me an error and halted it. Now, I cannot connect my controller by cord or bluetooth on any devices. I have tried it on every single device it used to work on. I've shut down the devices, reset the controller, and changed the batteries, but none of it has worked. Currently my controller is unusable.

I'm sorry to hear that your controller is not working properly after performing a firmware update.

Not only that, but I would like to ask if when trying to connect again your controller to another Windows PC and check for firmware updates, the Accessories app shows an update available, the app says that your controller is up-to-date, or the controller isn't recognized despite using a different USB cable as well?

In case the controller is not recognized when using a different cord or trying to connect it to a different PC, it is recommended to request a controller replacement if it's within warranty.

We didn't make volume control mapped to the controller because of discoverability and lack of buttons available to use it. We are looking at ways to make it easier to control your volume.

In your xbox's settings, make sure your xbox is discoverable/visible or the app will be unable to locate it.

Bluetooth is supported on PCs, tablets, and laptops. It is not supported on mobile devices.
Bluetooth does not support any attachments, such as headsets,
chatpads, or the Xbox Stereo Adapter.
We recommend connecting only one controller at a time using Bluetooth.

If the issue persists, try reaching out to

for assistance with the Bluetooth Dongle. Have you attempted to connect another Bluetooth device? I would recommend to try using the

Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10.
