    Xbox Controller not connecting with Bluetooth


    Hey everyone!

    I need some help with something. Just the other day I got a brand new iPad Pro 2020. I’ve been trying to connect my Xbox controller to it with Bluetooth but it isn’t working. The Xbox is off and unplugged, the controller is a few years old and the iPad is
    brand new. Other things are connecting but the Xbox controller isn’t showing up no matter how long I keep the linking button on. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Advice would be appreciated.

    This controller does not support xCloud. These are the controllers you can use.

    Official Xbox controllers

    Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth or USB connection)

    Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 1 (USB connection only)

    Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Bluetooth or USB connection)

    Xbox Adaptive Controller (Bluetooth or USB connection)

    Xbox consoles do not use Bluetooth at all. The controllers connect to consoles via RF. The Xbox controllers only use Bluetooth to connect to PCs and phones.

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    Xbox One S Bluetooth Compatibility...

    The redesigned controller has added Bluetooth to make it easier to connect to a W10 PC. That is all. The Xbox One S does not use Bluetooth to connect to the controller.

    There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

    The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

    The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.
