Xbox controller issues ONLY playing Minecraft

Hello,

I have an Xbox Series X, and have been having this problem since we got it at Christmas. My family of 4 likes to play Minecraft together. Sometimes when only 2 people are playing split screen, one controller will suddenly stop controlling their screen. If we turn on one of the other controllers (that was off when the problem started) then one of them is suddenly controlling the screen.

Other times, when we're in the process of logging all 4 of us in, the controller that is controlling a specific profile will jump to a different profile. When this happens, the remaining controllers can no longer log into Minecraft.

Occasionally, during this process, one of the controllers suddenly starts controlling two different screen with two different players.

All 4 controllers are assigned to specific, different players, and the controllers are all different colors. So we know whose is whose. This issue also ONLY happens in Minecraft. When we play other 4 person games none of the different issues occur.

Any help fixing this issue would be appreciated!

It is quite curious the problem you present, let's try some basic troobleshoot steps to rule out that it is a console problem.

First make sure that your controllers are up to date in the Xbox Accessories app, then Try to perform a cache clear with the following steps.

Remove your account from the console

1. Press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

2. Unplug the power cord from the back of your Xbox.

3. Wait a minute, and then plug the power cord back in.

4. Press the Power button on your Xbox to turn it back on.

5. Your cache should be clear at this point.

Log back in with the account.

My controller is doing the same thing. I have restarted it, reinstalled it, and hard reset. It is only giving me issues on minecraft. Is this a minecraft issue?

I use sometimes the Xbox controllers to play some games, for example Minecraft.

Now with the announcement that we can use the controllers on apple device it's only good for gamers!

Does minecraft even support a 360 controller?

Well, it should. I heard people aren't having issues with playing Minecraft with a 360 controller.
