    Xbox Controller Intermittently Disconnecting, Cannot get help from a human


    Hi,

    Really at a loss of what to do here.

    My xbox series X controller has been intermittently disconnecting for the past month or two now. It's gotten to the point where I can't play live games like diabo because my controller will disconnect with no warning. I've tried pretty much everything:

    • Power cycle console
    • reset controller connection
    • move closer to console
    • replace controller batteries
    • factory reset console
    • connect controller with microUSB
    I tried going through xbox support and their website refused to let me talk to a live person about the issue: "Live support isn't available for this issue".

    The virtual assistant told me I'd have to buy a replacement controller, but I purchased this xbox (and controller) less than a year ago and I have a really hard time believing xbox can't guarantee their products will work for more than a year.

    Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

    Thank you for the additional information, Adam. So the issue is only with it wireless functionality. Be sure to check for any wireless interference near you. You may turn off temporarily any wireless devices near your console or controller that could cause an interference.

    If nothing's working, make sure to check the other suggested troubleshooting steps from the link below. There's also a link there for your guide in reverting your controller's firmware using the Xbox Accessories app.

    Hi Adam! I am sorry to hear about what happened. Let's do our best here to get this sorted out.

    Does the disconnection issue happen even if you use a wired connection? How about you try a different USB cable?

    Don't forget as well to check for controller firmware updates. To further isolate the issue, it would be best if you could try using your controller to a different console if it will do the same thing.

    Hi Rostom, thanks for responding to my post.

    Disconnection doesn't happen for a wired connection.

    Yep I've tried firmware updates as well I'm on the latest version.

    I don't have a different console to test on unfortunately.
