    Xbox controller idea to improve immersion in video games


    Here’s a crazy idea. If the Xbox controller had some sort of screen so that it can offer map information and health or other hud info.

    This would allow us to play games fully immersed (with no hud). If I want the minimap, I can just look down at the controller. While my tv screen stays fully immersive.

    It doesn’t have to be a full on screen (as this may affect battery/longevity. But maybe a kind of compass, or light that is green when you look in direction of your objective.

    Are games really games anymore?

    Video games have improved significantly and become more immersive than ever before. However I certainly agree with you that locking a portion of the game behind paid DLCs is frustrating. Another thing that really annoys me is the inclusion of pay to win
    loot boxes in gaming.

    You dont need 3D, Kinect, Kinect Glasses, Motion/voice controls to be immersed.

    In reality those all remove the immersion.

    Think of the the game you have been personally most immersed in..... see it uses none of that.

    I like the idea of being able to share your controller scheme, I have an elite controller, and the button layout that I use Isn't offered in the game or through the layouts that you can download, I did try a few of them, and found what I liked, and improved
    on that, I think that's what a lot people do. I can see it being used, even just to get an idea of what different setups would be like, and then improving on those for your play style.
