Xbox controller firmware update cannot be used on Windows 10

If the issue happened after the update, I recommend that you revert it to the previous version if you could still revert it. You can still update it anytime you want. Your controller should still work normally after the downgrade. Be sure to report the issue to the Xbox team for them to investigate the problem properly via the Feedback Hub. Alternatively, you may try to troubleshoot the issue with the new controller firmware. Just make sure to install new updates from your Windows and get all available updates from your Microsoft Store.

Please also go to your Device manager by searching it up from the search bar and select it. Once opened, make sure that all your drivers are up-to-date especially your bluetooth driver.

Which version of Windows are you running?

If you need to update your Xbox controller firmware and don't have access to another controller to do so

Use the Xbox Accessories app on Windows 10 If you have a Windows 10 computer, you can try updating the controller firmware through the Xbox Accessories app. Connect your Xbox controller to your computer using a USB cable and open the Xbox Accessories app. Under the "Controller" tab, you should see the option to update the controller firmware if an update is available.

Use a friend's Xbox console If you have access to a friend or family member's Xbox console, you can try connecting your controller to their console and performing the firmware update from there. Once you've completed the update, you can reconnect the controller to your own console.

If none of the above options are viable, you may consider visiting an authorized Xbox service center. There, trained technicians can help you update the controller firmware using their own equipment.

You can update them on a Windows 10 PC or an Xbox One console with the Xbox Accessories App.

Are you trying to use an Windows 10 PC, or is it Windows 7 or another OS?
