xbox controller erratic

my controller acts erratically - if left untouched for 2 seconds the Y stick automatically drifts the screen upwards - it can be brought down again but basically needs to be constantly active or moved to maintain control of the screen view. I have 2 controllers
and only one does this so it is not a console problem - it is a controller problem

I think this should be warranty

has anyone else experienced this ??

Hi Mr BeatBox,

Did you make sure to install the latest game update by connecting to XboxLive before launching the game?

If that is the case, do you have another Xbox controller to test? Maybe the in-game walking glitch is the result of a problem with the xbox controller sending erratic data to the console.

Controller Battery Level Indicator

This is silly. On the 360 you simply hit the guide button. Now you have to wait until the controller becomes erratic before you know the batteries are low?

Is MS working on a fix for this?

If the controller is starting to drift or doing things without being commanded to your Xbox One Wireless controller may need to be serviced. You can view what options are available here

Getting your Xbox console or Kinect sensor serviced or you can contact
Xbox Customer Support who will also be able to assist you with this.

I did manage to navigate the help site flow chart of options and finally get to talk to a support person and he was very accommodating !
