Xbox controller does not show up in Bluetooth pairing list

I had an Xbox One wireless controller for PC and I have been using it on Win11. A couple of days ago I have unpaired (removed) the device from Bluetooth paired devices list. Since that day, I am unable to pair the controller anymore. The controller is in pair mode, but it does not show up in the detected device list.

What I have tried so far:

    • Connected the controller via USB cable and it is working
    • Paired the controller to another PC and it is working
    • Reinstalled bluetooth drivers (did not help)
    • Refreshed firmware on controller (did not help)
Today I have bought an Xbox Series X/S wireless controller for PC too and it does the same error. The device cannot be paired and it does not show up in the list.

Could anyone help me with this problem? I have bought two controller already and none of those are working via Bluetooth. Both can be paired to another PC, so the controllers are fine. It has been working on my PC before until I have unpaired it manually.

Also my Bluetooth is working because I am able to connect any other devices but Xbox controllers.

    :)

Xbox controller does not show up in Bluetooth pairing list

    Hi RiCE41,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

I am aware about the trouble you’re having with pairing your Xbox controllers to your PC through Bluetooth. I value the time and effort you have given out in trying to resolve the problem. I am here to help you further and let us work on this together.

    • Would you mind sharing the make and model of your PC?
Here are a few additional steps you might try:

Make sure that your Windows device is running the latest update. To check that your device is up to date:

    1. Select the Start button on your taskbar.
    2. Enter Settings in the search bar, and then select the Settings app.
    3. Select Windows Update > Check for updates.

    Run Bluetooth troubleshooter.

Try these solutions if your controller doesn’t connect and/or your controller’s light blinks but never pairs with your Windows device.

    1. Select the Start button on your taskbar, and then enter Bluetooth in the search bar.
    2. Select Find and fix problems with Bluetooth devices.
    3. Use the prompts on-screen to complete the troubleshooter.

    Restart your PC.

Select the Windows logo key > Power >Restart.

    Remove Interference.

Move closer to your PC and eliminate potential interference (such as from cell phones or other Bluetooth devices).

The steps can be found at Set up Bluetooth on your Xbox Wireless Controller | Xbox Support.

Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

Xbox One Wireless Controller Cannot Connect via Bluetooth to Surface Pro 4 (with Win10 Anniversary Update)

Any progress on this at all? I have the same setup (SP4, Arctic Forces Bluetooth controller).

I bought the controller in June and it paired, and worked fine for a few days.. got back home from my trip and a week later tried to use it but controller did not pair.

Now I can go through the add BT wizard and the controller does not show at all, it pairs fine to my Android phone and works perfectly but nothing on Windows 10.

In my Device Manager, under Bluetooth devices I actually have "Xbox Wireless controller" listed, but the controller still wont pair and wont show in the Bluetooth devices window!

    xbox series controller bluetooth problems

    Hello [Z]1,

Try updating your controller via PC before attempting to pair it to your Mobile device again.

Note: You cannot update the controller via Bluetooth.

Update your controller on a Windows 10 PC by using the Xbox Accessories app:

    1. If you don’t already have the app installed, get it in the Microsoft Store
    2. Open the Xbox Accessories app.
    3. Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
    4. When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory. Install the update.
After the controller is updated, remove the device from your Phone's Bluetooth paired devices, then pair it again:

    Android:

    1. Turn on your controller by pressing the Xbox button.
    2. Press the controller’s Pair button for 3 seconds and release.
    3. On your Android device, open Bluetooth by going to Apps > Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > Turn On.
    4. A window on your phone will show a list of nearby Bluetooth devices that are active for pairing. Select your Xbox Wireless Controller from the list.
    5. When the controller has successfully paired, you’ll see Connected below the Xbox Wireless Controller.
    iOS:

To pair your Apple device via Bluetooth:

    1. On your Apple device, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
    2. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
    3. Turn on your Xbox Wireless Controller by pressing the Xbox button. If it’s already paired to an Xbox, turn off the controller, and then press and hold the Pair button for a few seconds.
    4. Your available devices will load. Select Xbox Wireless Controller.
    5. Wait until the controller and the Apple device show as paired.

My Xbox Wireless Controller won't connect to my Bluetooth at all but it connects by USB to my computer, it also flashes when I click the pairing button and my Bluetooth is turned on, whenever I go to the pair devices and try to pair the Xbox controller
it doesn't show up. Is there a way I can reset the controller without the console?
Its suppose to flash when pairing also what are you trying to pair it to
