Xbox controller damages headphones

As the title says i think my xbox controller is damaging my headphones as sooner or later they start malfunctioning, sometimes only one side of the headphones makes sound sometimes neither and I have to move the wire around. Yet with almost every set of headphones I've tried connecting them to my phone and ps controller and they work well with no issues so in pretty sure it's not the headphones fault, Idk why my controller does this it's a series x controller and I've had it since December 2020.

So if you connect your headphones to your Xbox controller, after some time it starts to malfunction. But if you connect this same headphone to your phone or PS controller it works? That's correct?

Or the headphones you use with your PS controller and phone functions for a long time and the headphones you use with your Xbox controller start to malfunction after a while? (And do not function anymore after that).

I'm not an electrical technician but this can be caused if your controller is having electronic issues inside it or on the headphone jack/port. I would recommend you to take your Xbox controller to an electronic store for repair.

Controllers come with a limited 90 day warranty. It could be that the headphone jack has been damaged. How old is the controller?

if you have the headphones plugged it to the controller male sure the controller is updated if you can hear them then it does not sound like there is any damage

While I can't say with 100% certainty that you'll be sent a brand new controller I'm fairly sure they will. The issue with the controller itself could just be that the port for the headphone jack has been damaged in some way which happens. If you have wireless
headphones try using the Xbox companion app for partychat in the meantime.

I updated the controller but it said it didn't need an update. I think the headphone jack is damaged. If so, can i just buy a headset adaptor for the controller?
