    Xbox controller connection issues after installing iOS 17


    My iPad recently updated to IOS 17 (now 17.0.1) and my Xbox controller(s) will not stay connected in Fallout76 or other games. Functions for about 10 seconds and then stops and I must touch the screen to reactivate it.

    Have tried my other controller with same result. Both have fresh batteries and are up to date on firmware. Have removed devices, redone BT connection, etc. nothing seeming to work.

    Looking for a solution as I play on the iPad when I travel.

    with iOS 12 it's not possible to connect Xbox Controllers.

    With iOS 13, that comes in September it will.

    meanwhile you would need to have an Apple certified Controller. (MFI)

    The drivers should install automatically, it's possible FIFA 17 isn't compatible with the controller, but give this guide a shot to see if it helps!

    Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issue with the controller. We recommend to connect the controller to a PC or an Xbox console and update the controller. It is most likely due to the IOS software not running properly.

    First try to pair the controller with an Android or iOS device to make sure the controller is working...

    If it work on your Android/iOS device and you're not using an adapter I suggest you to restore your Windows via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

    If the controller cannot connect to an Android or iOS device it's damaged and must be repaired.

    You mean the update just fixed it. . .

    not an issue with the world wide bluetooth devices or battery level.

    This is also just an iOS / elite controller 2 issue, which requires Apple to update iOS to accept the device name of the controller as it currently only accepts a standard Xbox Wireless Controller.
