Xbox Controller Cant Update

Got new xbox controller. Updated it. Now I cant use a phone charger on this one eaither. Can plug in to console directly. And use batteries but cant use a phone charger. Why have things gone funny since the updates. Hos do I take the controler back to an
earlier setting

Unfortunately this is not available on the Xbox One. You cant control from the console( Xbox one or Xbox 360) but you can control to the console. I cant seem to find information on how to control it for an Ipad but will be scouring the internet for an answer.

Updated my controller and now all my apps close and my xbox wont connect to any of my controllers so i basically cant use it. HELP!

let me start again I tried connecting controller via usb cable but it wont sync I googled the problem and apparently the solution is to update the controller but im unable to do so because my xbox is not connected to internet even through ethernet cable
im not sure why .

without working controller I cant connect to wifi and without wifi I cant update my controller so basically I cannot do anything
