xbox controller button not working

You can try to update the controller driver. This method is to update the driver manually via Device Manager.

Follow these steps to update the driver via Device Manager.

1) On your keyboard, press the Win+R (Windows key and R key) at the same time to invoke the run box.
2) Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter on your keyboard. This is to open Device Manager.
3) Expand Microsoft Xbox One Controller. Right-click on it and click Update Driver Software.
4) Select Search automatically for updated driver software. Then Windows will install the new driver.

If the issue persists, follow steps below to update the driver again:

1) In Device Manager, right-click on Microsoft Xbox One Controller and click Update Driver Software.
2) Click Browse my computer for driver software.
3) Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
4) Select Microsoft Xbox One Controller then click Next button.

i dont have an xbox one expandable though

Hello, sorry to hear that happened. Do you have a warranty on the controller?

The A button is the most used button so it is always the first to go out. Nothing to do now but replace it.

Warrant ended long ago unfortunately but dont have money for replacement. So was wondering if anything I could do
