    Xbox controller breaking games on Windows 11


    So I ended up updating my Xbox One controller. And after some time of not being able to connect it via blue tooth to my laptop with Windows 11, it finally worked. I honestly don't know what was different.

    I booted up Mass Effect Legendary Edition and... Shepherd is spinning. Whenever I try to pause it breaks the game and I can't shut it down without turning off the whole thing. The triggers are all swapped.

    I boot up New Vegas on my PC and while the controls seem to work, as long as the controller is on and connected the only audio that works is the background music. Also it starts to rapidly connect and disconnect.

    And I have tried multiple times to disconnect and reconnect it. So it's not a "turn it off and on" solution.

    What the hell is going on?

    I have the insiders hub up but there is nowhere I can report this issue. In fact the whole reason I started this thread was because I was trying to get customer support and it just "make a thread on the forum"

    No, my controller didn't do that before the firmware update. The worst it would do is just disconnect and actually it would slow the game down. The controller update just made everything unplayable.

    As I suspected, a lot of users are reporting issues with the newest firmware update. I myself didn't experience any troubles yet, but I mostly play it on console. Lewis, in that case, it would be recommended that you report this to the developers on the insiders hub. :/

    Prior to the update, your controller did exhibit that behaviour? Probably is an issue with the firmware which you update your controller. Some situations involving the new update are not working so well on the windows 11. I believe is that what's happening.

    In that case, I do advise you to report this issue on the insiders hub app on your PC.
