    I'm pretty much in the same situation as this post https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...e/d48946e2-5557-454d-b22d-80beb21f9a1e?auth=1 . ive looked through the replies and at the end he says that he put new batteries in and it worked but whenever i put new batteries in my controller doesnt turn on, when i hold the xbox button, it flashes but when i stop holding it it turns off. When i put the original batteries in, the contoller works fine but the sync button still wont work (the original batteries are low and the new ones a never used before if that changes anything,)

    The Xbox Wireless component of the controller uses a special frequency that is exclusively used by Xbox controllers, so it won't function with WiFi. To use the Xbox Wireless half of the controller on your PC, you'll need the Xbox Wireless Adapter.

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    The Bluetooth controllers don't come with an adaptor, is has Bluetooth built in. The device it connects to need to have Bluetooth to work, if your PC doesn't then you need to get a Bluetooth adapter for the PC.

    The wireless part of the controller works on a unique frequency only for the xbox controllers, so it won't work with WiFi, so for your PC to use the Xbox Wireless part, you would need the Xbox Wireless Adapter.

    No, the console does not support Bluetooth, only the controller does. The controller supports Xbox wireless for Xbox and the controller is usable via Bluetooth for PC and tablet use.
