    Xbox Controller and Windows Shortcuts

I have an issue that if I have a controller plugged in and happen to be playing Rocket League (only happens on RL) if I try to type in game it automatically performs a windows shortcut depending on the key I pushed. Only way I have got around the problem after it starts is unplugging the controller and restarting my pc. Huge inconvenience. Thanks for any help

    :)

    Xbox Controller and Windows Shortcuts

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Brandon995

Let's try to isolate the problem a bit more.
If you try with a different game the issue persist? Or is this happening only with rocket league?
Can you double check if the controller is up to date inside the accessories app?

In the meantime try reinstalling your controller driver:
Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager > search something like Xbox controller category (or similar) > expand the category using the little arrow (">") > select delete/uninstall driver

Click OK, restart your PC and reconnect the controller.

If the issue persists, reinstall/update Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator driver.

You can do it following previous steps, but now select Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator.

Can take a while, would be great to wait up to 15 minutes before trying again

    Game DVR

    Hi,

You can also set your own preferences for the keyboard shortcuts in the Game DVR on Windows 10. When you set your own shortcut, the standard shortcut will still work. To save you custom keyboard shortcuts:

    1. To set your own shortcut, select the Your shortcut field, and press the keys you want to use for that function. Shortcuts must include at least one of
Control (Ctrl), Shift, or Alt plus at least one other key press.
    2. If you press keys that are already assigned to a common function, like Control + C for copy, they won’t appear in the field.
    3. To remove one of your shortcuts, select the cancel icon next to the shortcut.
    4. Select Save at the end of the Keyboard shortcuts section to save your shortcuts.

To see or change your keyboard shortcuts in the Game bar, open Game bar, then
Settings, then select the Shortcuts tab. Go to
Game DVR settings in Game bar
    .

I found a way to set my own preferences on the keyboard shortcuts by deactivate Game DVR! Now i use the included record function on Nvidia experience. I can use the shortcuts i like to use. It works in non Windows games too. perfect!

    Cant open Xbox game bar

    Sweet, thanks.

Could you create your own shortcut and see if that opens it instead. Please do not use the windows key for the new shortcut. After reviewing the windows shortcuts, CTRL+Shift+G should work fine or if there is a better shortcut you have in mind please try that.

Let me know how it goes,
