Xbox controller 2 mos old - Xbox says warranty no good?!!!

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums! Just to clarify, what is the exact date in which your son purchased the Xbox One Controller? All accessories, controllers, etc., have a manufacturer warranty of 90 days and 120 days for Design Lab Controllers and
a year for Elite Controllers. If the website is reflecting that the controller is out of warranty but you purchased it within the last 90 days, I would recommend for you to

Contact Support to see if they are able to assist you with this issue.

• Scroll down, Click on Contact Us
  
• Step 1: Click on Ask a Question
  
• Step 2 : Select your Product
  
• Step 3 : Select your Issue

When I was there earlier and put in the serial number from the original box I was told the warranty was up as per activation date. If 90, days that is possible but this is very unfortunate as he got it as a gift late February. We now have 4 bad controllers
and feel like we're just throwing money away. Our kids are old enough to treat the controllers with a level of care. No food or drink, no big drops, these should last longer.

So can I ask where it was purchased it from and if theres any chance it may have been pre owned?? I would return it to the retailer it was bought from with the proof of purchase. Yes if it was Brand new, it should have a 90 day warranty. If its showing
as out of warranty then its likely it wasnt actually brand new. Some retailers sadly repackage pre owned controllers and sell them as new, i hope this is not the case for you.
