    Xbox continues to intermittently start in 640x480


    hello, for the past year my Xbox has continually on an intermittent basis starts up in 640x480 resolution. When I go into the setting to select a different aspect back to HD quality.... The option is locked to the 640. In the past I have been able to hard
    reset the console and it would fix it self. Or change AV inputs for a min then switch back to my Xbox and it would fix it if the hard reset didn’t work. But today, nothing is working to reset it. Seems to be a problem for other users from a few years back.
    But the directions to fix it are no longer viable as the settings have changed due to updates to the software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Accidentally Changed Resolution during setup and can't get it back to normal (640/480)

    I have my Xbox 360 connected via HMDI to a Widescreen TV. This afternoon I was checking some setting in the initial setup and accidentally changed the resolution from 640x480. Now all I get are horizontal lines across the screen. How do I get back to 640x480,
    or to initial state so I can start over??

    ......ermm.... part way through the first mission and first impressions are why is the resolution 640x480 and I thought I sold my original xbox a long time ago....

    Will persevere but really unimpressed with the mess of the start..

    Problem displaying in 1080p resolution

    I can change the resolution out of 640x480 but if I choose 720p, 1440p or 1080p the green screen start again.

    I tried using another device (laptop, xbox 360) with the same HDMI cable and they are displayed in 1080p perfectly. As soon as I reconnect the HDMI cable on my xbox one the screen shrinks in 640x480

    There are a few others I tried from non-microsoft forums but they just repeat the same troubleshooting suggestions from above.

    Intermittent black screening (but continued audio)

    It's a glitch in the recent Xbox One update. Just hold the X logo on the Xbox One for 10 seconds to force it to turn off. Then turn it back on. I believe the March 4 update will fix it.

    I have done this restart but seems to continually do it.

    Hopefully that will fix it then. I guess it is a compatibility issue with some TVs?
