Xbox Console Companion doesn't play audio through my headset when I stream on my laptop.

I started using this app to play games on my xbox by streaming it to my laptop, because I typically am in a discord call with other people while I do so. For the first few weeks of using this app, I could hear the audio from the game through my headset.
However recently when trying to do this, the app doesn't seem to play any audio whatsoever, and I'm unsure as to what the problem could be. I checked the settings for my xbox, the app itself, and my computer, changed various things too see if it made a difference,
and nothing changes. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled it to see if that did anything, I reset the information on the app several times now to see if it was a setting I missed, but still nothing.

I tried looking on this site for solutions from other people who probably had the same issue, however I couldn't find anything because it always directs me to Xbox party chats not having audio, when I'm looking for audio as a whole.

Does your laptop have HDMI in? if not then that would be your problem...if you want to play through your laptop...you could setup and use the Xbox Console Companion and stream your Xbox to your laptop.

Alright. As I've already stated, a new headset doesn't change anything. The audio settings are completely grayed out as if I didn't have a headset plugged in. I managed to revert the firmware of my controller through my Surface laptop, but still no audio. Thanks for trying to help!

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to answer that.

Unfortunately you cannot plug in the Xbox One into your laptop and use the laptop as a display. Also there is no app or program that would convert the HDMI port on your laptop to an input source rather than an output source.

Your only option would be to use the game streaming through the Xbox Console Companion app. I would re over these two support articles on how to improve streaming:

but this is a console issue the audio will not come through my speakers when I tell the xbox to send voice through my headset and speakers.
