Xbox console companion app wont connect to Xbox one

hi ive been trying all day to connect my xbox one to console companion app but it refuses to see my xbox on the network (trust me theyre both on the same network) even when i manually enter the ip address. my goal in all this is to be able to stream mixer
to my facebook profile while playing on my xbox

I have tried:

Re-naming my Xbox

Restarting both my Xbox and my laptop

Preforming a full power cycle of both my xbox and my laptop

Updating the app

Signing in and out of the app

Checking my laptop's firewall

Connecting via both a wireless wi-fi connection and Ethernet cable

Factory resetting my Xbox

Switching between 2.4GHz and 5GHz wi-fi

I have been trying all day nothing seems to be working - I've read almost every thread there is on this issue and have gone through the trouble shooting tips twice.

Help would be very welcome

Yeah, Phoenix_Reins is correct with this, the Xbox console companion app only works with the Xbox One. There is no app that connects to the Xbox 360.

I've tried doing a hard reset and it worked!

Many thanks for that.

I'm guessing the box must be keeping some settings in the cache or similar that conflict with the updated app.

I tried your suggestion last night to no avail also tried master resetting both the PC and xbox with no luck. However is able to get them to connect today by taking my setup to a friend's house I however don't know if it will continue to work once im back
on my home network

XBOX and Computer do need to be on the same network / subnet.

e.g. mine Computer is on 192.168.1.x and XBOX is on 192.168.10.x > wont work (though the LAN/VLAN cross pass is allowed, other devices don't have issues - apart AirPrint@HP printer

).
