: Xbox Connectivity Issues W/ Port Selection and NAT

Hello everyone,

So I just brought my Xbox One from home to my dormroom in Philly and I have been trying to access Red Dead Online, but have been having persistent problems connecting to the servers. I checked my NAT type and it says that it is "strict," and that I should
adjust my router settings, but I'm in a dormroom and have no access to a router! I also am using IPv4 instead of IPv6, but I have no idea how to change or upgrade to the better version. I am in desperate need of some answer as to whether or not there is anything
I can do about this problem or if I'm beat, but any answer at all would be helpful.

EDIT: It is also saying that my "UPnP is not successful," and I have no idea what that means or how to fix it :,(

With regards to this problem, have you somehow tried checking the status of your NAT? Even if you use a wired connection if it is connected on the same internet provider and has NAT issue it might really cause problem connecting via Xbox Live services.

Let us try to check on this, for Windows 11, open the Xbox Console Companion app, select Settings, and then select the Network tab. Look for NAT Type. If the status says Teredo is unable to qualify, it means your PC is unable to obtain a Teredo IP address, the status of the NAT should be Opened.

If all else fails, I suggest to try opening the following port next to manage your NAT type. If you're connected to a network through your workplace or school network, ask the network administrator to open the following ports:

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port UDP 4500 (UDP)

Yes you will. You will run into NAT issues. The problem is there is a set of ports that have to be open. If you just place the ports open then whatever Xbox connects to Live first will have an open NAT while the other will have a moderate or strict NAT.
There is NO way around this as only one device can use the ports at one time. You can assign the ports open for one Xbox or QoS, but you will run into the same issue where one will have to "sacrifice". This will cause some connection issues with other people
who have moderate - strict NAT, thus limiting your games/parties available to connect to.
