    Hi, I just wanted to ask the following question:

    I connected my xbox one to my hp laptop with a hdmi cable, I wanted to ask how to stream the xbox on my laptop screen like i used to on my tv, most of online tutorials explain that you have to use xbox companion but when I open it it makes me open my xbox app where I cant find a way to use the xbox.

    I thought I understood how to do that but then I found out that was for using your xbox by wifi while its not connected, which isnt what Im looking for.

    maybe to solve this problem I just need to find a way to stop using the computer, and making my screen project from my hdmi cable.

    Connecting an Xbox One S to a laptop.

    The HDMI connection on a laptop is usually an HDMI out connection, meaning it can connect to another display, but not become another display.

    The only way you could use the laptop as a display for your Xbox, is to stream the game from your Xbox, by using the Xbox Console Companion app on your laptop.

    The laptop is connected to the internet via WiFi. I've resolved the password mismatch issue and now the xbox is just having issues connection to the laptop. I believe it has to do with the channel the laptop is broadcasting on.

    Laptop HDMI's are output only, not inputs. An Xbox console cannot be connected to a laptop HDMI. They can, however, be connected to a TV or monitor.

    @shawty- ICS on a laptop. You connect via ethernet cable the xbox to the laptop. Then you share the wireless connection that the laptop has. This increases you ping time. It may help, it may not. You are adding an extra step in your connection with live.
