Xbox connection over ATT LAN

If the speed has dropped to around 100Mbps over lan then either the port you are connected too on the router is not gigabit or the cable only supports 100Mbps connection, you would need cat5e or higher cable to get 1Gbps connection to the router.

log into the router and check what your xbox is connecting at, if 100 then you need to change cable.

so the three yellow ethernet ports are 10/100/1000 so make sure you use the yellow port, no point using the blue. you should be connecting at 1Gbps via the lan so there is either a setting on the router not working or both cables you tried are not capable, how long a cable are you using.

I make my own cables and have had the odd one refuse to work at 1Gbps and is usually down to how cheap the cabling is (yes i'm cheap lol)

do you have a laptop to plug into that cable and see what connection speed you are getting, if still 100Mbps then try a short cable next to the router and see what you get if it keeps doing it regardless of what cable you use then i would contact your ISP.

then the cable is not working as it should, or the router port is only 100Mbps, what router is it, the model. some routers provided by ISP's sometimes only have one out of the four ports as gigabit which is insane these days.

The cable is a new Cat5e and I swapped it with another and its showing 100Mbps fullduplex from the router.
