    Xbox completely shuts down playing online


    Why does my Xbox series X (2020) just completely shut down while playing madden online!? I have cleared cache, alternate MAC address, changed all settings to “do not turn off automatically”, exited from quick resume, no overheating warning, Xbox is well ventilated, no hot air coming out, etc. Microsoft is completely useless with support and an out of warranty repair is $300. Sadly probably my last straw before switching to Play Station. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Backward Compatibility not working

    Homegrown, the Live service for original Xbox games was completely shut down years ago, so you wouldn' t be able to get online with COD either.

    No. Since the servers for the original Xbox have been shut down there's no way to play them online.

    Hi,

    The online part usually. Some games are still able to be played offline. Like I said this really comes down to the developers when they shut servers down. Multiplayer features are gone completely unless they support local play(within your own network).

    If it were an EA title it wouldn't be shut down. It's still a very popular game on Xbox Live and was still in the top 20 most played the last I checked(which was around December or so) so no. It wouldn't have been shut down.

    The games EA shut down the servers to are games that NO BODY PLAYS. It's a way of life. Developers do it on every online enabled console and have been for years. Servers get shut down. Deal with it.
