Xbox cloud gaming cross-console chat problems Macbook to Xbox One

I'm playing Fortnite on a MacBook air via xbox cloud gaming. The people in my party are using a console and I can't hear them. When the game starts, I get an error message from Fortnite saying my teammates are trying to communicate with me, but can't hear me. I'm instructed to click on a button with 3 horizontal lines, but I can't do it via the controller and the mouse won't click on it. Am I even able to chat with people playing on different consoles? I'm using MacBook mic, so it's not a Bluetooth headphones setting. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    :)

You need to give access from your browser to the microphone in your MacOs settings. You'll have to consult your manual on how to do that

    I’ve been able to

Use the mic and video for FaceTime. Doesn’t that mean it has access? I also gave access via Xbox cloud settings

why can i play cloud gaming on my phone fine yet when i use it the same way on my laptop its a macbook it doesnt work i tend to play through the browser

Hello, Bdgdggggf my name is oskayra I am an independent advisor and player like you I hope I can help solve your problem today

There could be a few reasons why you can play Xbox Cloud Gaming on your phone fine but not on your MacBook. Here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps:

Browser Compatibility: Xbox Cloud Gaming is officially supported on the Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Safari browsers. Ensure you're using one of these supported browsers on your MacBook.

Device Compatibility: Xbox Cloud Gaming requires a device with sufficient processing power and graphics capabilities. While your MacBook might meet the minimum requirements, it might struggle to handle the demanding cloud gaming experience, especially for newer or more graphically intensive games.

Internet Connection: Ensure your MacBook has a stable and strong internet connection. Cloud gaming requires a consistent and fast internet connection to stream games seamlessly.

Browser Extensions: Sometimes, browser extensions or plugins can interfere with the functionality of web apps like Xbox Cloud Gaming. Try disabling any extensions or plugins that might be causing conflicts.

Browser Cache and Cookies: Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve temporary glitches or conflicts that might be preventing Xbox Cloud Gaming from working properly.

Processor Architecture: Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently not optimized for ARM processors, which are commonly found in MacBooks. If your MacBook has an ARM processor, you might encounter compatibility issues.

Operating System Version: Ensure your MacBook is running the latest version of the macOS operating system. Compatibility issues can sometimes arise when using older operating system versions.

Hardware Acceleration: Check your browser's settings to ensure hardware acceleration is enabled. Hardware acceleration can improve the overall performance of web apps like Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Graphic Drivers: Ensure your MacBook's graphic drivers are up to date. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause compatibility issues and affect performance.

I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or need additional clarification.
