    Xbox child account sign up not working


    My daughter is trying to create an Xbox account. It has me do some verification and then we get an error message

    We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found.

    We tried it twice with the same error. In the latest attempt, this was the URL we were sent to: https://www.microsoft.com/library/errorpages/smarterror.aspx?correlationId=6P1dqWIYLUK5TMFf.0.5.0

    Browser: Version 80.0.361.66 (Official build) (64-bit)

    Any ideas what is going on? Can you use the correlation ID in the URL to determine anything?

    Xbox one's backwards compatibility won't work

    Check too see if your account is a child account or adult account.

    support.xbox.com/.../promote-child-account

    Start a game up that is backwards compatible without signing into xbox live, then sign in.

    Please let me know if either of those work.

    She has her own account and is in the family group. The failure is through Xbox.Com.

    Try restarting your console. If the issue persists, use https://www.xbox.com/ to create a new account for her then add it to your console :)

    hi there i would suggest if the steps below dont work head over to https://support.xbox.com/ and chat to an advisor there to walk you through the steps in the mean time

    If you’re receiving this error code when trying to sign in with a child account, it may mean that the child account isn’t a member of your family.

    Child accounts that aren’t members of a family won’t be able to use the Xbox Live service until they’ve been added to a family. To verify whether the child account is a member of your family, sign in to your Microsoft account and see if the child’s
    account is listed on the Your family page.

    Sign in to your account

    If the child account is a member of your family, go to the next solution. If the child account isn’t a member of your family, you’ll need to add them so they can sign in and use Xbox Live. For info, see:

    or

    Make sure that your privacy settings are set so that the child account can sign in. To do so, have the child sign in to their account at www.xbox.com. Then, when prompted, the adult account associated with the child account should sign in to www.xbox.com
    and give permission for the child account to sign in to Xbox Live.
