Xbox Chat Shuts off internet on my Wi-Fi extender, but not my entire router.

Whenever i am in xbox live chat (on pc) and playing games (also on pc), the internet on my computer completely turns off.

There are 2 kinds of "shut off's" that happen. There are the brief 10 second ones, that just freeze you in place, and stop you from moving. Only happens when talking to friends in xbox chat.

Then there is the minute+ long one, that kicks you out of the game and xbox party chat, prompting me to have to restart the game and xbox party chat. Again, only when talking to friends in xbox.

These are very annoying. Discord works just fine, it only happens in xbox.

I have looked for software updates on the extender site, to no avail.

I have done a full factory reset on the extender, and again, to no avail.

I don't know what the problem could possibly be. If anyone has ever had the same/similar problem and had it fixed, i would appreciate any input.

It is one provided by my ISP. But i have an extender, and every time the internet on my PC shuts off as a result of xbox, i always check my phone (which is connected wirelessly to the router) the internet on there stays on. So i'm pretty sure this is an
isolated thing that is only happening on my pc

Interesting. What kind of router/extender do you have? Is it one provided by your internet provider or is it one that you purchased yourself?

Troubleshoot audio in parties and issues with multiplayer games on Windows 10.

Try this out and let us know the results.

Are you hosting the chat and team? If so try having a friend host one of them instead as you can overload a extender for your wifi

I am already using something that is called a " Wi-Fi Range Extender " in my game room.

My Xbox 360 (Original White with 20 GB console) is using the Wi-Fi Adaptor that is being extended by a 12 foot USB Extender Cable, it gets 4 out of 4 Wi-Fi Signal bars.

My Xbox One only has 2 out of 4 Wi-Fi Signal Bars. because it is built into the system.

I certainly hope for my sake that the next Wi-Fi Adapter for the next Xbox One is at least 5 times more powerful than whatever is being used on the Xbox One for me to partake of the Digital Era.

I'm really glad that you're enjoying your Ethernet Cable connected consoles, it must be wonderful to have such a powerful internet connection for your Xbox 360 and Xbox One
