Xbox charged my credit card 10 times this morning and I didn’t receive a thing!

Talked to a rep to verify that my credit cards were deleted from the account, they assured me they were. My son used a gift card, the rep suggested that’s how we make purchases from now on, to buy a game last night. I woke up this morning to 10 additional charges for the same game on my credit card. Not only were my credit cards back in the system but we charged 10 times for the same purchase. Tried to call in and was put on hold for 45 minutes before I just hung up.

For the first replacement card, I had just received it, hadn't activated it, looked up my credit card account oonline and saw that new XBox charges were made on the yet unactivated card!

The XBox charges have been the only fraudulent charges. No other vendor.

I never said they were XBOX Live transactions. They were for purchases from Microsoft made online. The first time it happened I applied for a card only to use with XBOX Live. Two years later fraudulent charges started. The second time I used a credit card
I had for over 10 years without a problem. One year later the fraudulent charges started. The first card only had 1 charge for Microsoft Purchases of over $1000. The second card had one charge for over $1200 to Microsoft and then 6 days later a charge for
another online retailer. I have four credit cards that I have had for over 10 years. I have never had any fraudulent charges on any of them. Do you think it is a coincidence that the only two credit cards linked to an XBOX live account ended up with fraudulent
charges? Is it also a coincidence the both cards had large Microsoft online transactions? How about when I call support about my account and they never confirm or deny that someone got my credit card info when I ask.them. Nothing is impossible, I think the
hacking community has proven that over and over.

At the time you made the pre order as you split the payment no charge would have been taken, they charge 10 days before release. Maybe you spent some of your account balance after you made the pre order and now they charged extra to make up for that shortfall
between your account balance and the cost of the game.

When will I be billed for my game?

If you used account credit only to pre-order your game, your balance will be taken immediately. If you used a credit card, or split your payment between credit card and account balance, you will be charged around 10 days before the game launches.

If your account balance is lower than the amount you authorized for pre-order billing, the remainder will be taken from your credit card. You’ll receive an email to your billing account confirming that the remaining card payment was collected successfully,
and the game will be available for you to play on the day it launches.

The original email receipt you received would have been based on your account balance at that time of pre ordering. The new email will be based on your account balance at the time they charged for the pre order.

Hopefully that makes sense.

If you preordered with a credit card/Paypal, you're not charged until within 10 days of the game's release. So you wouldn't have been charged yet and wouldn't receive a refund.
